CrowdStrike unveils Falcon Guardian — endpoint runtime protection for AI agents

What changed: CrowdStrike introduced Falcon Guardian, an AI Detection & Response (AIDR) product that provides visibility and runtime enforcement where AI agents execute (the endpoint), including Agent Access Controls that define which agents may run on managed devices.

Why it matters: If you run or plan to deploy agentic tooling inside employee devices or edge endpoints, this shifts enforcement from policy documents to runtime controls that can block unauthorized agents and log agent actions. That makes endpoint security a first-line control for agent governance.

Try/watch: Ask security vendors and your endpoint team how they’ll map existing governance rules to agent allow/deny lists and test blocking unapproved agent binaries in a staged environment.

Automat-it launches Mate — an autonomous AI support engineer for AWS production

What changed: Automat-it announced Mate, an autonomous agentic support engineer for AWS that continuously monitors customer environments, investigates incidents, performs root-cause analysis, and orchestrates tickets and Slack communications; the announcement is dated September 2, 2026.

Why it matters: This is a practical launch of an always-on autonomous operations agent aimed at cutting mean time to detect/repair and offloading routine runbook work. For startups and managed service providers, it’s an example of how vendors are productizing agentic automation for cloud operations.

Try/watch: Before broad rollout, test Mate in non-production accounts, validate its permission model and change-reversal capabilities, and require clear, tamper-proof logs so humans can review agent decisions and roll them back if needed.
